About Sheldon

I bring to the position my Experience from a 30 year career in the newspaper industry, where I held several key management roles and 16 years serving in public office as a Councilor and School Trustee.

In 1996 my wife Deborah and I chose to move to Carstairs, opting for a small, family oriented community. In 2001 I chose to run and was elected to town council for the first time. This led me to successfully run 3 additional times for the position of Councilor and also serve as the Public School Trustee for a term. After leaving my newspaper career behind I setup and currently run my own successful consulting business.

With this Experience I have a proven record of applying Strong Leadership and management skills to ensure our community needs are spoken for and well represented.

During my previous twelve years on council and additional four years as a trustee I helped our community take a number of positive steps forward, helping to create a vibrant, growing community. After a four-year hiatus from politics, I am seeking to once again serve our community and play a part in building a solid foundation both in fiscal management and planning to ensure all Carstairs residents, young and old, continue to have a strong future

My Experience in leading large organizations through constantly evolving environments while nurturing effective relationships and guiding effective communication has created a history of organizational success. I have a proven ability to effectively represent the constituents I serve and the Experience needed to ensure effective representation going forward. I have an unparalleled work ethic and desire to produce meaningful results. I have the Experience and skill necessary to represent our community, to protect our rights and hold Government accountable.
